miss thornbird t ‘tess’, 3yo 13.2hh (still growing) dark bay quantock filly.

i have had the most amazing journey with this complicated little girl! i bought her as she needed a good home thinking i could bring her on but how wrong was i. Tess had been taken from the quantock hills as a 3 month old foal, gone to a home where she was a pet and i got her as a 1 yo. she was a complete nightmare to touch, and putting a head collar on would take about 20 minuets, and then she would rear when i would try and lead her, i was too inexperienced for a high maintenance pony like her.

i tried a woman who did natural horsemanship and what an amazing decision that was. 

i started takig lessons with the woman who explained to me why she behaved like she did, Tess was so insecure but she wouldn’t show it. my instructor taught me how to understand her and how to get her to trust me, after 4 lessons i was leading Tess perfecting, getting her head collar on and picking her feet up, Tess was really trusting me.

almost 2 years on and i can honesty say i have a perfect pony, she is now broken in, hacks out alone, she can have all her feet picked up like its nothing, and she will follow me anywhere without a head collar. she is now my dream pony come true. i believe she is a gift from God to teach me everything i have learnt, i really am blessed to own such a fantastic little pony! she will NEVER be sold!
